Who we are

Florence Legal Services is the paralegal practice of Laura Florence, licensed paralegal, at 329 Woolwich Street, Guelph, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what we do with it. It follows Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you send us a message through the enquiry form, we collect what you type in: your name, phone number, email address, what your matter is about, your message and how you heard about us.

When you call or email us, we keep the details you give us so we can reply.

We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send, private details like account numbers or identity documents through the form. Anything else we need can be covered on the call.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to you and talk about your matter.
  • To check for a conflict of interest before we take on your matter.
  • To understand how people find us, so we know which parts of our work to keep doing.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Services we use

We use outside service providers to receive your message and to check that the form is sent by a person, not a bot. They may store information on servers outside Canada.

The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps. Google may set cookies when the map loads.

How long we keep it

If you become a client, your information becomes part of your client file and is kept as the Law Society of Ontario requires. If you don't, we delete your enquiry within two years.

Confidentiality

We treat what you send us as confidential, whether or not you become a client. Only Laura Florence reads enquiries.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we have to keep it by law. Email info@florencelegalservices.ca or call 1-888-609-4414.

If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
